is hip hop our era?

the era of classic rock disco hippies, are we the generation of hip hop.
We grow up thinkin we're gonna be koo listening to the new shit but are we the old already? will it be stale to our kids? damn.
evolution of sounds from emcee's to hip-hop with r n b to rock collabs to the transformation of nelly furtado.
an era where ghetto is to skate n prep is to buy pac n Nwa.
polo purchased by minorities n whites sport a white T.
not about race but stepping out of the norms its crazy how people like to mess with
others perceptions trying to find something new.
Hip hop has taken everything overrrrr.
but what do people on outside looking in perceive as hip hop.
nursery rhymes for hits or a poetic symphony.
can't listen to a song i gotta listen to a piece not a phrase a word or
chant just a piece piece of forever
personally im sick of hip hop right now.. i may listen but i need a new perception in life.

"let nothing define me....." hiphip "we" takin some time off...

Hungry for it

Learning, I can't stop. Studies have shown that Alzheimer's is caused the unwillingness to stop learning the brain just shuts down and ceases to adapt any new knowledge and in turn the person loses parts of his memory. So why do our teachers an d mentors in life get paid so shitty my theory is because they are selfless first selfish second. Its hard to put a price on knowledge when someone will be willing to help others before themselves. But I'd rather say to myself that I helped provide for the future rather than consuming the now. Take a look at yourself and can you say at the end of the road can you honestly say you feel good about what you do? I'm a business management major. So what does that mean its means I can Get money! But will that make me feel better about myself? Maybe , can't really say its not about the money because anyone would be lying to you or else students wouldn't be in 6 figure debts if it wasn't about the money.
So we graduated instead of finding the job we feel good about we find the job which gets us the cake. but is cake really what we need a short fulfillment of quick happiness or is what we need a salad? A mixture of different things that when eaten by themselves are simple. So I say to myself do I want the cake which will kill me after time or do I want the salad which will set me up for healthy living. Its not about food its about harmony the ability to learn adapt and teach new things when I look back I want to say to myself did I influence others to make some cake or did I influence others to make some damn salad. Either way I know I'm still hungry for it. cake or salad

Reflection

I've always been adamant on letting one race, religion, sport even type of worker I am. On paper I am asian, Catholic, athletic and a sales person but not one of these attributes define who I really am. Considered shy but outspoken when needed artistic but a jock at times. Times with emotion or not even a smirk, I find an enjoyment of being wondered what defines myself. Are you this, are you that? I guess that's what I'm used to but it's so much more for myself to be a definition of who I am. I see that as a future manager the SKY really IS the limit. I feel lucky that I have a degree to be anything I want to be. Sometimes I think it should be named that Paul Dio has a Bachelor's in Science of Anything that he wants to be which would be exactly the way I would want it.

THOUGHTS/ theory from school
  1. The success of the Ipod was not created by the simple fact that it is a good reliable product but the fact that it created a culture of security which was unmeasurable and more valuable than the ipod itself. Without the culture support and innovation of this product is just a normal product.
  2. The idea of putting a price on an emotion that is not measurable is where money can be made. sounds captalistic just a bit. (i.e how much would someone pay to retrieve the data lost on his/her harddrive emails, pictures, videos, personal notes) If its valuable enough to them the elasticity of price remains limitless. HMMM I guess thats why people are forking up 600 to pay for an iphone to feel that emotional maslows sense of high esteem.
  3. What makes a home a product to put a price on? is the actual retail price of the materials labor and furniture? Hell no. If you know you know thats why real estate will always and forever be the price tag of emotional security. The idea that I'm going into the biggest debt of my life becuase this is where I see my future, not becuase this has granite countertops. Obviously other peoples oppinion may differ but i guess thats why this is MY BLOG.
  4. Staples? why is staples successful how did it get there. let's see they sell office supplies ok to who teachers students and oh yea business people. office supplies of the life lines of businesses in order to be functional and profitable in their business. who can that apply to? every business. Staples is the lifeblood of numerous company's functionality. MY weirdest thought would be to make money off the money that hasn't even been put in the wallet yet.

I.E staging the realtor is spending money on staging based on the assumption that He is not spending money out of his original pocket but rather out of the money that he is going to make. Therefore the money that is going to be made is easier to spend rather then reaching into your pocket and handing me cash. For example if i know someone owed me 10 dollars and a guy tells me i'll take 2 of those 10 dollars and turn them into 20 I am more likely to do it because the time of money in my possession has not occured to be a part of my ownership so I am more likely to spend money that I just made along with making more money in the long run.

anyways I'llhave more next week if that made any sense.

The ability to put a price on things you shouldn't put a price on, is what I beleive makes people rich.

A couple of more weeks to go and im Bombarded with papers projects and presentations. Monday I had my first interview for Staples Inc. Headquarters which was quite an experience. It was overwhelming how big the building actually was. Toughest questions by far were " How do you feel about doing the same thing every single day behind a desk and a computer screen?" and If you were to choose this job as opposed to a job outgoing and interacting with people what job would you choose?
Although I was pretty well prepared the interviewers were intimidating. I could see a Large difference in Knowledge between the Corporate headquarters and The Retail Level Recruiters. For some reason it felt like this is the type of atmosphere I wanted to be in. The toughest thing for me to decide was what would be your ideal job? its hard for myself because I manage I adapt to all situations so its weird to sticking to one thing and liking it for the rest of my life. I won't find out til I give something a shot.

Milestone preparation

What has come from a simple idea has just got complicated. I am looking foward to doing my research and getting into the nitty gritty.
My first realization. *Clicks on real estate in boston* *over 600 properties for sale* HOW MUCH SHOULD I DO? how often? how long will I be missing anything? 20 properties? 3 rooms? thats 60 rooms full of space? ITS GONNA BE A ROUGH ride but im up for the task.

Intelligence

Recently, in my ethics class a question was brought up if we had the choice, would we put a chip in our brain to make ourselves learn things quicker and process things faster?
My response to that was no, because I beleive that true intelligence is the ability to describe something which is complex in a simplistic way. The ability to spread the knowledge is far more valuable and far more intelligent than to keep the knowledge to ones self.
Putting everyone on the same level of knowledge being intelligent or less intelligent hinders the ability to articulate things that have been learned or discovered.
In the trade book that I am reading for this class, "Blink" the concept behind this book is that our instinctual reactions can tell much more then we think, in a sense with a BLINK of an eye something has told us who we are. It emphasizes the fact that preparation can be flawed (i.e Managerial Strategy and Planning.) for reasons such as setting a long term goal can affect the performance of a company negatively because of the lack of adjustment while planning. Instead, Malcolm Gladwell suggests that our instincts wether right or wrong can be more beneficial to us becuase it happens in the a split second with the flexiblity to adjust. A companies ability to adjust quickly can Definately reflect the difference between being in business and being out of business.
Gladwell does not directly draw parellels to business but rather through human behavior. I find it interesting that the concepts told through a personal perspective also have applied to a Business perspective.
for now,
I'm still reading.

Brainstorming

So this is my first entry, so far I am still debating on wether or not to do a feasibility project, or a business plan for a service or a product. I found that taking managerial accounting at the same time as senior project is going to be alot easier since i'll use my homework aligned with my projects. Also I do still have to figure out which book or books I want to read but it should be refreshing reading something else then a college text book once and a while especially when it counts for the grade. I'm trying to take in as much as possible since I only have a couple months left til I'm out in the real world.
